Dr. Gilmore-Bykovskyi and her lab recently collaborated with the Alzheimer’s Association to draft an Inclusive Language Guide, which seeks to provide guidance on how to best talk about issues surrounding Alzheimer’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease-related dementias (AD/ADRD). Some particular areas discussed in the Guide are recommendations for communicating about race, ethnicity, economic factors, sex, gender, and gender identity. This will be used by researchers, scientists, and activists to communicate compassionately and clearly on issues surrounding care for those with AD/ADRD. Other workgroup members include Drs. Megan Zuelsdorff, Jennifer Manly, Shana Stities, Jason Flatt, Catherine García, Ganesh Babulal, Kathleen Hayden, William Hu, Lauren W. Yowelunh McLester-Davis.
