Dr. Andrea Gilmore-Bykovskyi, Alison Coulson (Research Specialist), and collaborators Dr. Kyungmin Kim, Dr. Jeanne Teresi, Dr. Basil Eldadah presented an oral symposium at the 2022 Annual Gerontological Society of America (GSA) Conference. The title of the symposium was Lucidity in Dementia: Emerging Concepts and Data. In this presentation, Dr. Gilmore-Bykovskyi and team presented on a range of topics including methodology, informant reporting measures, feasibility of audiovisual observations, and the development of a preliminary framework for studying episodes of lucidity in people living with AD/ADRD.

When asked about her favorite parts of the conference, here’s what Alison had to say about her time at GSA:

“The thing I enjoyed most about attending GSA was learning about the diversity of projects aiming to improve the lives of people living with dementia and their caregivers. I learned about a range of efforts; from improving rates of diagnosis of mild cognitive impairment and dementia, to providing more positive end-of-life experiences for people with dementia on green care farms in the Netherlands. I left the conference with more knowledge, energy, optimism, and ideas.”
